- Navigate to Windows Settings > Update & Security > For Developers.
Shortcut: In Windows 10, open the Start menu and type "developer". "Developer settings" should be the first search result. - Enable "Developer Mode", wait for the process to complete, and close the Settings window.
- Navigate to the beta download page and click the "Download" button.
Note: Attempting to use the "Open with" option will cause issues. Be sure to "Save File". - Click "OK" to begin the download.
The screenshots below refer to Measure Mobile, but this process is applicable to all Desktop App betas.
- Navigate to the folder where the .APPX file was downloaded.
- Right-click the .APPX file.
- Select "Properties".
- Open the "Digital Signatures" tab.
- Left-click the signature that appears.
- Click the "Details" button.
- Click the "View Certificate" button.
- Click the "Install Certificate..." button.
- Select "Local Machine" from the Store Location box.
- Click "Next".
Note: Windows' User Account Control may display a prompt requesting confirmation of the operation. Click "Yes".
- Select "Place all certificates in the following store".
- Click the "Browse" button.
- Select "Trusted Root Certification Authorities".
- Click "OK".
- Click "Next".
- Click "Finish".
- Click "OK" in the confirmation window and close remaining "Certificate" windows as well as the .APPX file's "Properties" window.
- Run the .APPX file and follow the on-screen instructions to install the app.
