Isn't it about time to include LVP and LVT as their own categories, instead of cheating and using Laminate Plank and Laminate tile?

Hi there.  You don't have to cheat, necessarily.  Create your own LVP category and choose Wood/Plank as the Type so you get a random installation.  Then set up LVT as a tile so you get a more uniform installation and can set the Drop to set the offset.  Once you get those built, they can be saved as your default settings so they'll always be there.

  • Same thing, John.  Make Carpet Tile, VCT, Rubber Tile, etc. all set up as a Tile.

  • I agree JC.

As a long time user I'd like to see that happen as well.

My guess is for that to happen it would force a change be made in the core product. That could be extensive maybe.  This is only my personal opinion but, I think Measure is big enough now that it should be what drives the changes to the core product if thats the case..... I could be wrong.

  • Mark,

Measure can fully function outside of the Core software, which is great because you can customize your product categories however you wish!  When I open Measure, my defaults include Stone (Ceramic w/ Grout), LVP (Wood/Plank), LVT (Wood/Tile), Carpet Tiles (Tile), VCT (Tile), Rubber Rolls (Vinyl/Roll), Rubber Tiles/Walkoff Mats (Tile) and Resin/Concrete (Miscellaneous).

None of those are standard in Measure, but with about 8 minutes of data entry and a quick "Save As Default", those are my standard product categories (in addition to the original set).

As far as importing products from RFMS goes, (as an example) a carpet tile will want to go to the original Tile category, but I re-route it to Carpet Tile.  (Pro-Tip:  I always check the category when I import a product in from Core every time and can re-route if necessary.)
