Left-click Rotate, Right-click Pan

Ive been a beta tester since early 2005. I was super stoked when 3d came out. Which brings me to my point. As 3d software goes, left-click Rotate and right-click Pan is considered standard. Why cant we have that? 

Ive been asking for that since its inception. I really think its time for serious consideration.
