Stairs Treads Only

I would like an option when creating stairs to figure material for treads only.

Sorry for the delay Kevin, the best practice for these types of products is to build the stairs in the stairway editor with None as the material.  Then you can apply the hardwood treads to the stairway by applying a room add-on and utilize Step Count as your calculation method.

The tread itself would be listed under Misc. in the product list, the dimensions and sizes would be listed in the product description, they wouldn't be needed for calculation as you are calculating as an each product.

  • We can do that now Ryan, what type of material is going on the treads?

  • Is there a way to assign solid hardwood treads on a staircase?  It would have to be an "each" quantity, with dimensions. My recommendation is to start at 36" or 3', and go in 6" increments up to 10'. Many prefinished wood manufacturers, prefinished or otherwise, are offering solid treads now.

  • Edit: dimensions should include depth too, but most will be 11-1/2" or 12".
