I would like to be able delete multiple sheets at one time.

When you right click on the sheet tab to see the menu and choose "Sheet List" , you can delete multiple sheets at one time. You can also select one of the sheets that you want to delete and choose to merge all of your sheets into that sheet and then just delete that one sheet.
