Lock Cuts

Lock all cuts into their current positions on the roll(s).

Use the "Lock Cuts" feature once all seam and cut customization is complete. Its purpose is to prevent the software from automatically rearranging cuts once they have been placed. A product whose cuts have been locked will be rendered with a dotted overlay in the Estimate window, as shown to the right.

Locked cuts may be moved by the user, but they will still remain in a locked status. If adjustments are made to a room's seam layout, the size and shape of the cuts within it will naturally change. As such, the affected cuts will be unlocked and recalculated on the roll. The newly-unlocked cuts will then be arranged around any remaining locked cuts.

How To:

  1. While in Layout Mode, select a room that contains the product you wish to lock.

  2. Click the "Lock Cuts" drop-down box found under the Roll section of the Ribbon Bar's "Estimate" tab.

  3. Click the "Lock Cuts" button in the menu that appears.

To unlock all cuts on a particular product, follow steps 1-2 above, but click the "Unlock Cuts" button in step 3.
